Le mandat : Design d’un appareil d’échographie par ultrason sur base roulante.
La solution DDI : Un produit compact qui permet son intégration dans des salles d’examen souvent exiguës. Une ergonomie adaptée à la réalité des utilisateurs par le design d’une console à rotation latérale de 45° qui s’ajuste en hauteur, permettant un travail en position assise ou debout. Une interface de travail à angle prononcé qui permet une meilleure vision du plan de travail et réduit la fatigue lors d’un usage prolongé. Un écran monté sur bras articulé permettant son positionnement dans le champ de vision de l’utilisateur. Un support des sondes peu encombrant facilitant leur accès. Une apparence sobre et distinctive qui se veut non-intimidante pour le patient. L’utilisation de techniques de fabrication à investissement d’outillage minime tel que le thermoformage sous pression des thermoplastiques qui convient à un volume de fabrication restreint. Bref, un bon exemple d’équilibre entre créativité et rationalisme.

ULTRASOUND SCANNER
The mandate: Design a stand alone ultrasound scanner for medical use.
The DDI solution: A compact design that enables the use of the scanner in often small exam rooms. Ergonomics adapted to the end user reality with the design of a console. It can be adjusted up or down at the push of a button to allow to work sitting down or standing up and can also rotate 45° sideways. A work interface that is angled towards the user to ensure better visibility of the controls and reduce neck and back stress. An articulated arm mounted monitor making it possible to position the screen in the end user field of vision, therefore reducing neck stress. An out of the way probe rack with easy access. A sober but distinctive appearance that is meant to be non-intimidating for the patient. The use of a low cost investment and low volume fabrication process like pressure forming of thermoplastics. Basically, an example of good balance between creativity and rationalism.
