Le mandat: Design d’un outil pour la terminaison de connecteurs jack RJ-45
La solution DDI: Le client ayant développé un nouveau système modulaire de connecteur jack RJ-45 à coeur universel qui nécessite un outil de terminaison unique. Le résultat est l’outil REVConnect. Un design utilisant le principe de la pince ou sertissage spécialement adapté au nouveau système de terminaison. Un design à l’ergonomie appropriée qui permet d’effectuer la terminaison en une seule action. L’utilisation du surmoulage des thermoplastiques qui combine des plastiques rigide et caoutchouteux afin d’offrir une meilleure prise de la main là où nécessaire. Un seul moule pour le manche qui est une pièce symétrique, le gauche et le droit étant identique. Le design et l’intégration d’un outil de préparation du câble combinant une guillotine et une lame de découpe de gaine de câble qui se range dans le manche, créant un outil 2 dans 1.

The mandate: Design of a jack termination tool for RJ-45 connectors
The DDI solution: The client having designed a new modular connectivity system with a universal core for RJ-45 jacks needed a unique termination tool. The result is the REVConnect tool. A design that uses the pliers or crimping principle specifically adapted for the new termination system. A design that is ergonomically appropriate and facilitates the termination process in one simple action. The use of overmoulding of thermoplastics combining rigid and rubber like plastics where needed for a better hand grip. Only one mould for the handle, right and left handles are symmetrical and identical. The design and integration of a cable preparation tool that combines a guillotine cutter and a cable jacket stripper that houses in the handle, creating a 2 in 1 tool.
